Organ recitals in Fátima Shrine
Portugal’s largest pipe organ is hosting a series of free recitals dedicated to the pilgrims of Cova da Iria.
Built by the Italian firm Fratelli Ruffatti and inaugurated in 1952, this imposing instrument underwent a restoration in 2016 by the Italian firm Mascioni Organi, resulting in a new, consistent and modern sound.
The organ recitals take place on summer afternoons at the Fátima Shrine.

Candle procession in Fátima Shrine
Since the beginning of February, the Candlelight Procession, following the recitation of the Rosary at 9.30 pm in the Chapel of the Apparitions, has been held daily throughout the year, rather than just between Easter and Advent, as was previously the case.
This change stems from the Sanctuary’s recognition of the increasingly regular presence of groups of pilgrims throughout the year, rather than just during the busiest months.
Established at Cova da Iria in the second half of the 1920s, the Candlelight Procession draws its origins and inspiration from the tradition of the Sanctuary of Lourdes in France; in Fátima, it draws pilgrims’ attention to the symbolism of light, which is an expression of the divine in the apparitions of Fátima.

Cistermúsica
The Cistermúsica season offers cultural programming throughout the year, but it is in the summer that it reaches its peak with the Alcobaça Music Festival. In 2026, the country's largest classical music festival will celebrate its 34th edition between 26 June and 31 July, with approximately fifty performances, under the theme "Resurrection".
This multifaceted concept invites multiple interpretations: from the religious dimension, associated with the belief in life after death; to the metaphorical interpretation of transformation, renewal or individual overcoming; and even a philosophical approach, in which death is transcended by reason, ethics or the legacy that remains throughout time. The idea of Resurrection will be the underlying theme of this edition, finding particularly evident expression in the Festival's opening and closing concerts.

6th edition of open-air concerts
The Municipality of Porto de Mós and Cistermúsica are once again joining forces to organise another edition of the ‘Concerts in Natural Settings’ series, an initiative that invites the public to enjoy a unique experience where music, heritage and nature come together in perfect harmony.
Admission is free, and the concerts will take place at 5.00 pm on 12, 19 and 26 July in three of the municipality’s most iconic natural settings: Fórnea, in Alcaria; Lagoa Grande do Arrimal; and Barreiro Novo, in Telhados Grandes, São Bento.

Season markets
The season markets will take place in Fátima next to Fátima tourism office, following all 4 seasons. The implementation model provides for four annual events, one for each season: the Spring Market, the Summer Market, the Autumn Market and the Winter Market. This schedule will ensure that the initiative takes place regularly, whilst also ensuring that it is aligned with the natural cycles of agricultural production and the availability of goods.
