Easter Misteries in Idanha
The Mysteries of Idanha are an essential part of the region’s culture and traditions. The programme of Easter Mysteries, presented by Idanha-a-Nova city hall, highlights the celebrations taking place from Ash Wednesday to Pentecost Sunday. The activities include religious rituals, such as the Commemoration of the Souls, the Men’s Rosary, and the community Stations of the Cross, as well as gastronomic events and concerts of sacred music. The preservation and promotion of these traditions are fundamental to local identity and the passing on of values to new generations.

Boom Festival
30 years ago, the seed for Boom Festival was sown inside the 'magic forest' of Herdade do Zambujal, Águas de Moura, Setúbal. What began as a gathering of friends and artists – united by their love of 1990s Goa trance and steered by Good Mood Lda, a cultural organisation that pioneered the Goa trance scene in Portugal – eventually blossomed into the global celebration of psychedelic culture you know today. In 2002, after hosting two more editions in Setúbal, Boom Festival relocated to Idanha-a-Nova (district of Castelo Branco). It's here that the environmental principles and practices began to be developed, managed by IdanhaCulta: a non-profit cultural association dedicated to environmental and cultural regeneration.
