Guarda Blues Festival
A Guarda prepara-se para receber mais uma edição do Festival de Blues, um evento que, ao longo dos anos, se tem tornado uma referência na programação cultural da região e no panorama do blues em Portugal.
Entre os dias 6 e 9 de agosto, a Praça Luís Camões será novamente palco de quatro noites dedicadas a este género musical e vai juntar artistas nacionais e internacionais.

ContraDança – Festival de Dança e Movimento Contemporâneo
From 3 to 9 September, dance will take centre stage in various urban venues and at the Municipal Theatre. ContraDança – Festival of Contemporary Dance and Movement presents a range of performances, including aerial dance and contemporary circus, as well as workshops and acclaimed shows. This multidisciplinary festival is organised in partnership with ASTA – Theatre and Other Arts.

Feira Farta
Feira Farta is an event dedicated to rural life, where traders and producers showcase their products. The fair takes place in the square outside Guarda’s Municipal Market and usually involves all 43 parishes in the municipality.
Alongside the sale of products, there are also various workshops, entertainment and a number of performances.

Guarda memórias
The “Guarda Memórias” project is a travelling social and cultural initiative organised by Guarda Municipal Council, through the Eduardo Lourenço Municipal Library. Its main aim is to stimulate the memories of elderly people in care homes and day centres, celebrating local stories through music, storytelling and singing.
This is a community-based project that transforms memories of the past into an active, cultural present for the whole community.

Literary Festival "Em nome da terra"
The annual Literary Festival "Em nome da terra" aims to bring readers together through a programme which, centred on the written word, including conversations with writers, storytelling sessions, guided literary walks, visits to schools and chapels, literary dinners, music and theatre.
There is room for celebrating renowned writers, but also for discovering young writers; emphasis is placed on portraying anonymous readers, on the education (and engagement) of children and young people, on the literary celebration of Virgil, on maintaining the tradition of literary gatherings, on fostering a close relationship between readers and their booksellers, and on writing in both the most established and the most everyday genres.
It takes place in the Mountain Village Melo, 45 km away from Guarda.

Christmas in Guarda

Guarda Wine Fest
Guarda Wine Fest is an event that celebrates wine, gastronomy and music, bringing together producers, experts and wine lovers in an atmosphere of discovery and conviviality. The event is organised by the Municipality of Guarda and the Beira Interior Regional Wine Commission, featuring experiences such as guided wine tastings, show cooking, talks on pairing wines with regional produce, presentations of new wines and concerts as part of the Guarda In Jazz festival.
