Each space evokes the feeling of travelling back in time, with furniture and décor that preserve the historical essence. The tailor-made breakfast reflects these endogenous characteristics of the manor house and the region.
A true refuge of sheer elegance and inspiring tranquillity !
Here, you will find the highest spot in continental Portugal, the only ski course in the country, the spring of two important rivers and an unexpected “alpine type” landscape abounding in glaciation traces. Embraced by the dazzling Serra da Estrela, the Mountain Villages are true gems of authenticity and peace of mind to discover, as well as the iconic Historical Villages of Portugal, such as Linhares da Beira, a paradise for paragliding fans. It was the first natural park to be created in Portugal, also holding the record for the largest protected area in the country. Magnificent in all seasons.
Beautifully placed at the heart of Serra da Estrela Natural Park and UNESCO Estrela Geopark, Mondego Walkways are a brand-new natural attraction of the region of Guarda. These walkways start in the Mountain Village of Videmonte and continue to the Caldeirão Dam, crossing the Mountain Villages of Videmonte, Trinta, Meios and Corujeira, as well as Aldeia Viçosa, Mizarela, Pero Soares and Vila Soeiro.
Located upon Alva River and Caniça river stream, this is the place to see the valley of Mondego River. In the surrounding area, there is a wood of century-old chestnut trees supporting a high diversity of fauna and flora species, some of them quite rare in Portugal.
The romantic river beach of Lapa dos Dinheiros is a truly idyllic place, beautifully placed at the heart of a landscape of imposing rocks, several waterfalls and ancient chestnut forests.
The Mountain Village of Videmonte has an identity strongly influenced by the rye culture. Céu and Manuel Proença created the project called Vim do Monte, combining the purest tradition with the evolution of time. This is why they have opened their doors to all who, by appointment, wish to learn more about bread making.
