The house that inspired the imaginary universe of Para Sempre (Forever) and its epistolary sequel – Cartas a Sandra (Letters to Sandra) gave way to Casa Para Sempre – Vergílio Ferreira, which aims to celebrate the literary work and thinking of the author, as well as the importance of Melo native village (located in the municipality of Gouveia, near Guarda) and the surrounding area of Serra da Estrela in his writing, with the mission of disseminating and perpetuating his literary, aesthetic and philosophical legacy in Portugal and abroad.
The Artistic Residency occupies the 2nd floor and aims to enable creators from different artistic fields to plan and develop different artistic projects, as well as to participate in initiatives that bring them closer to local communities.
Casa Para Sempre – Vergílio Ferreira and its Artistic Residency celebrate the uniqueness of Vergílio Ferreira writing, along with its connection to several art forms, such as: music, painting, photography, cinema, sculpture, satirical drawing, theatre and, last but not the least, literature itself.
